Roppongi

Roppongi has reinvented itself from a purely nightlife-driven quarter into one of central Tokyo's premier cultural and luxury-living addresses. Anchored by the Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Midtown mega-complexes, the area now blends headquarters offices, branded luxury residences, embassies, and the museums of the "Art Triangle" (Mori Art Museum, The National Art Center, and Suntory Museum of Art). English is widely spoken, international schools and preschools are nearby, and multiple subway lines put Shibuya, Ginza, and Tokyo Station within minutes. After dark Roppongi still earns its reputation as the city's most concentrated expat-and-tourist nightlife district, clustered around Roppongi Crossing and the 3-chome bar streets. Heavy police presence keeps the area broadly safe, but residents tend to choose buildings with strong security and soundproofing to insulate themselves from late-night noise and the occasional touting.
