About Alsancak

Alsancak runs along the Birinci/İkinci Kordon waterfront, with a flat, walkable grid of cafés, meyhanes, boutiques and offices behind a palm-lined seaside promenade. By day it is a coffee-and-bicycle culture; by night, streets like 1453 Sokak and Kıbrıs Şehitleri Caddesi form the liveliest nightlife strip in the Aegean. It is the most secular, cosmopolitan address in a famously liberal city, favoured by young professionals and a small foreign/lifestyle contingent. Living here means the metro, İZBAN rail, ferry piers and Kültürpark are all on foot, at the price of premium rents and weekend buzz; nominal lira values climb fast while real USD prices stay broadly flat.
